Ferland Mendy (Meulan-en-Yvelines, France, 8/6/1995) is now a Real Madrid player.

Ferland Mendy has joined Real Madrid in a big-money move from Lyon, Los Blancos have confirmed. Deschamps, his coach, revealed that he will play in Madrid.

It marks another foray in the transfer market for Madrid, who have already bolstered their ranks for next season with the signings of Eder Militao, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard.

"Mendy will be presented on Wednesday the 19th of June at 1:00pm CEST in the VIP box at the Santiago Bernabéu". He is always a threat going forward and he made 44 appearances for Lyon last season.

Madrid have purchased the French global for a fee of £42.7 million - a not inconsiderable sum to add to the amounts already paid for Hazard (£90m), Jovic (£54m), Militao (£45m) and Rodrygo (£40.5m). All reports suggest they haven't finished spending yet. He also was handed his first call-up to the France squad in November.

Mendy came through the youth system at Paris Saint-Germain but an arthritic hip threatened to cut short his career.
