Rockstar announced that this week's massive Red Dead Redemption 2 update will bring the game to a formal release - seemingly taking the game out of beta and into a full release. "The issue affecting some players in Red Dead Online that was causing reduced numbers of animals in session and other knock-on effects has been resolved", they told Polygon in a statement. The result is something completely new and fun, and an experience that will continue to expand and evolve over time.
It remains to be seen if Red Dead Online proves to be as popular as GTA Online, but since Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best selling games in 2019 so far, new content is likely to bolster its popularity. Therefore, the absence in Red Dead Online does not seem to make much sense. Because of Jessica LeClerk's role in Red Dead Online's story missions, players will want to make sure they've done the "Kill Them, Each and Every One" to unlock her new "Destroyed by Grief" mission.
With this week's RDO update, PS4 players have early access to a brand-new weapon, the "devastating" Ancient Tomahawk. There's also Last Stand, a bloody free-for-all Showdown Mode with no way out, no second chances and one victor.

Additionally, PS4 players can pick up the Perlino Andalusian Horse, which has higher stamina than a standard steed.
Elsewhere, this week any Red Dead Online player will receive a 25% increase in payouts across all A Land of Opportunity Missions, Free Roam Missions, Showdown Modes, Races and Free Roam Events, while players that join a posse will earn 5 bonus Gold Bars along with bonus RDO$ and XP while playing together. Alternatively, you can search out Red Dead Redemption 2 gunslinger Black Belle in Lemoyne. Catalogue includes a pair of Citadel Boots, the Valdez Vest, Wescott Skirt, and limited stock of the Plaid Cap.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for PS4 and Xbox One.
