Ace Research Institute analyst Hideki Yasuda (who is well known for this predictions in the world of gaming) released his quarterly analysis of Sony Corp's buisness.
With that level of power under the hood, power that was recently expanded on to an even greater degree thanks to an insider infiltrating an official Sony meeting where detailed specifications for the PlayStation 5 were accessed, then PlayStation gamers will surely waste no time in arming themselves with a proper next-gen weapon as the PS5 games they will be able to play will be truly mind-blowing. Aside from that, he also addressed the price and what sales will look like.
Asuki predicts that the PS5 will be released in November 2020.
Inside that, he mentioned that he expects Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch the console roughly around Novemeber 2020.
Asuki believes that the PS5 will feature a $499 price point due to how powerful this next-gen hardware will be.
To most people, a $399 price is the sweet spot. But considering how powerful the PS5 is going to be, based on the specs revealed by Cerny during his interview with Wired, saying that the PS5 is no mere upgrade but a true generational shift, it seems that a $499 price point seems likely and reasonable. Yasuda doesn't believe that cloud streaming services like Google Stadia will be a threat to the PS5, and so he thinks the console will sell quite well, predicting around 21 million units sold by March 31, 2022. And Sony won't be sharing details in the near future, as it doesn't plan to unveil the console at E3 2019.
