Rick and Morty, which wrapped its third season in October 2017, received a massive 70-episode renewal one year ago, and we now know when it will return.
In June a year ago, it was confirmed that production had begun, but no release date was revealed - until now of course.
The show had been previously renewed for 70 episodes, spread out over an undetermined amount of seasons, although a typical Rick and Morty season is 10 episodes.
Around this time previous year, Adult Swim renewed Rick and Morty - television's "number one comedy, cable or broadcast, among millennials" (millennials love ISIS Werewolves) - for 70 episodes. The order is part of a new long-term deal the network has signed with series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. We've seen a handful of glimpses inside the production, including hints pointing to a new "Interdimensional Cable" episode, glimpses inside the writers room and the first announced guest voice for the new season. Though they sound a little unsure about which year it actually is, currently. "We're very excited. We're working on them, they're going to be great".
"We're not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore. It's going to be really cool". "Brand new Season 4 in November 2019, this year".
By September, it will be nearly two years since there were new Rick and Morty episodes on the air. Rick and Morty also has become a multi-platform sensation not just on television, but across digital, gaming, livestreaming, retail, and fan experiences.
