Ben Simmons: 'If You're Going to Boo, Then Stay on That Side'

Joel Embiid caught checking cellphone on Sixers bench during Game 1 loss to Nets

2019 NBA Playoffs Capsule Recaps 4/13/19: Homecourt Disadvantage for 76ers, Raptors, Nuggets

Grabbed 10 offensive rebounds the first game, but gave up 16 to the 76ers.

After the Sixers' 111-102 loss to the Nets in Game 1 of their first-round series, it's time for Game 2 (8 p.m./NBCSP).

The Toronto Raptors are now 2-14 all-time in Game 1 of a playoff series. However Jimmy Butler will negate that a bit as it's unlikely he will have as great a game again today.

The only top seed that didn't lose on Saturday was the Golden State Warriors, who retained home court with an absolute drubbing of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Orlando went 22-9 over the final 31 games of the season to clinch its first playoff berth since 2012.

This lopsided matchup was all about Steph Curry.

While LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan may have put up the numbers, finishing with 18 and 15 points each, it was the Spurs' young backcourt of Derrick White and Bryn Forbes that won this game for them. During the post-game press conference, Curry gave a "shout out to the contacts" for his fantastic accuracy from super-long-range.

Brooklyn got off to a strong start against the heavily favored 76ers and didn't look back. Sixers coach Brett Brown called Johnson's actions "completely unacceptable". Kerr also reminded the reporters that Durant picked up two technical fouls during this game and a 7 technical foul will automatically result in a one-game suspension for him. The Denver Nuggets were -5.5 and had the NBA's best home regular-season record yet lost to San Antonio. Both players were caught looking at Johnson's phone in the middle of the game, which goes against team and league rules. He's still just 22 and trying to lead a team with lofty expectations. "But it was important for him to get his feet wet and feel the playoffs, feel the energy, and I have no doubt he'll come back and play a lot better in Game 2". Lowry did have eight assists and seven rebounds.

"But the fact that it's after every single miss, when shots aren't going to fall". The Spurs grabbed the defensive rebound and closed the game out with free throws.

Popovich passed Lenny Wilkens (1,412 wins) and Don Nelson (1,410).

"Elsewhere, Orlando Magic beat the Toronto R" play-offs.

The 76ers ended up fining Johnson for "conduct detrimental to the team".

But after Game One, it appears that fans may need to reevaluate what the future holds for the Nets.

The 6 seeded Brooklyn Nets met the star studded Philadelphia 76ers and had a dominating performance. Caris LaVert added 23 points in 23 minutes off the bench for the Nets.

Taking a different position, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid both said that the fans reaction was warranted and the way to quiet them is by playing better basketball.

Dudley played 27 minutes, producing four points, four assists and a steal. Unfortunately for them, the 76ers are such a talented team that it's nearly inevitable they'll play better than they did in Game 1. Harris was even worse with four points on seven attempts. The 76ers made just 29 of those.

KEEP AN EYE ON: The Warriors blocked 14 shots in Game 1, getting three each by Durant, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala. With question marks over Embiid's health, winning this series might just end being a lot more hard than what most 76ers fans would've imagined at the end of the regular season.
