So what's next for Nomanskies (THANKS THAT'S STUCK IN MY HEAD NOW AL AND MATTY)?
"Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action". Thanks to our community, NEXT - our large release a year ago - was especially so.
At the moment, that's more or less all we know about Online, but Hello says that the changes are in response to the game's Next update, which launched past year. Apparently, the multiplayer and social aspects of the update are only the top of the iceberg, with more to be revealed soon. However, Murray emphasized that No Man's Sky Online is not a MMO.
Most interestingly, though comparisons are expected, Hello Games says it doesn't consider NMSO to be an MMO, saying 'it won't require a subscription, won't contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players'. Murray promised that "these changes are an answer to how we have seen people playing since the release of Next". Hello will reveal more about the update, including its two other components, in the coming weeks. Beyond will be our most ambitious chapter so far, and something we've been working ridiculously hard on.
No Man's Sky hasn't always had a great relationship with multiplayer.
No Man's Sky experienced a rather rocky start when it was initially released in 2016. Hopefully these upcoming changes, will also include a redesigned user interface because the current setup definitely isn't doing Nomanskies any favours.
