Two women have been rescued after they were taken hostage by a man at a UPS facility in southern New Jersey Monday morning, according to the local prosecutor.

Two women are now safe after a hostage situation inside a New Jersey UPS warehouse.

Police responded to an active shooter situation Monday at a UPS facility in Logan Township, New Jersey, the shipping company said in a statement.

CBS Philly reports that there are no known injuries and that SWAT teams were activated and sent to the scene.

Both of the women worked for UPS, Fiore said. This report has yet to be confirmed by police or other media outlets.

UPS said it is working with law enforcement at its supply chain processing facility, but did not provide details or identify if any employees were involved.

"We do have an incident", he said.

Police were seen ducking behind vehicles outside a loading ramp at the sprawling complex. "We can not provide information about the identity of people involved at this time", the company said in a statement to Fox News.

Nearby schools have been put on lockdown while cops investigate the potential threat.
