California Rookie Police Officer Fatally Shot 2 Weeks After Being Sworn In

In November, Limbaugh was ordered to turn in a black.223 Bushmaster AR-15 semiautomatic rifle. A sea of candles lit the night at Central Park to honor the memory of Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona killed in the line of duty.

Earlier today the Yolo County Deputy Coroner identified the shooter as 48 year old Kevin Limbaugh of Davis.

His daughter joined the Davis Police Department in 2016 as a community service officer - a job she remained excited about even when the department ran out of funding to pay her, Chief Darren Pytel said during a news conference.

A man who shot and killed a rookie California police officer last week left a note claiming that police had targeted him with "ultra sonic waves meant to keep dogs from barking".

A man on a bicycle shot Davis police Officer Natalie Corona, 22, Thursday night as she responded to a triple-car crash in the city of Davis.

Corona's father, Merced, is a retired Colusa County sheriff's sergeant in California.

They went on to issue sympathies for officer Coronas family saying her death was an "incredible, senseless tragedy".

Police said a gunman on a bicycle ambushed the officer, shooting her as she investigated a auto accident, then reloaded and narrowly avoided wounding others before walking away. I notified the press and internal affairs and even the Federal Bureau of Investigation about it. He had left a backpack at the crime scene with information that led the officers to his home, Pytel said.

"I did my best to appease them, but they have continued for years and I can't live this way anymore", the letter read in part.

No one else was injured in the attack besides Corona, who died at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. "But just seeing you all here does make a difference".

"She was a rising star in the department", Pytel said. There, the Sacramento Bee reports, several members of the Davis police force shared anecdotes illustrating Corona's commitment to helping others.

Inside the suspects Davis home, detectives also found two semi-automatic handguns, a 9 mm and a.45-caliber, one partially hidden in a shoe.
