CBS' "Criminal Minds" will end its run after the upcoming, 10-episode Season 15.

Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

"Next, get ready for a momentous ride: Season 15 will be our epic final season", the tweet read alongside a cast photo.

With just three more episodes to air in its shortened 14th season, Criminal Minds got good news and bad news.

CBS" EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach said that "It is the quintessential CBS hit.

"Criminal Minds", produced by ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios, is now in production on its 14th season, which brought the long-running drama past the 300-episode mark back in October. "It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television".

The final season will consist of 10 episodes, which will be shot at the end of the season 14 episodes. It has been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC [Studios]'.

According to Deadline, the network has decided that it will use the abridged season to wrap up all the series' loose ends before sending them off into the sunset.

Season 15 will be "more serialized" than is characteristic of the drama, bringing to screen a two-part season opener as well as a "major confession" and a Behavioral Analysis Unit member in peril. The series was created by Jeff Davis and is executive produced by Mark Gordon, Erica Messer, and Breen Frazier.

Throughout the years, the show has starred Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore, Paget Brewster and Amber Heard.
