Burnley manager Sam Dyche accused Daniel Sturridge of diving in Liverpool's 3-1 win on Wednesday night, while also brushing off Reds boss Jurgen Klopp's criticisms of excessive tackling.

Bournemouth's midweek win over Huddersfield was a big result for them.

"I said after the first challenge, I don't know who did it, sliding tackle from six or seven yards, getting the ball, everybody likes it, I said to the ref "it's no foul but please tell them you can not do that".

But Gomez's injury is a blow to Liverpool FC's title hopes ahead of games against Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United in the next four weeks.

'Thankfully it's not too serious and one that I can definitely be back stronger from too.

"I think Ben Mee's was a fantastic tackle and I imagine that a player, who seems to me an honest player, like Gomes, I think he realised that". Because you get the player as well. It's no disrespect to the players who helped them get to the Premier League - they've proved they can compete at this level - but now Bournemouth are also looking at the next tier of players to kick on again.

Bournemouth fans will obviously be desperate to keep him but why he doesn't get mentioned when the big jobs come around is just beyond me.

Gomez suffered a fracture to his lower, left leg in Liverpool's 3-1 victory at Turf Moor and will be sidelined for about six weeks. "We sent him home".

And The Sun say Lovren is now in line to regularly partner Van Dijk at the back.

However, Gomez was replaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold midway through the first half with the score at 0-0 as the Liverpool FC defender look to see the ball out of play.
