And now South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the launch date of its Galaxy A8s smartphone which will also feature an in-display hole for the selfie sensor. So far this year we have seen Huawei blow everyone away with what they could do with a triple camera setup so it seems that Samsung are going to try and do the same after their cameras this year, while impressive, were not mind-blowing.
US wireless carrier Sprint Corp is also working with LG Electronics USA to launch a 5G smartphone in the US in the first half of 2019. This is the same feature that is expected on upcoming smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy A8s, and the Lenovo Z5s. The invite clearly shows the small punch hole-style hole on the top left corner that will house a selfie camera.
It is the 17th of December to come in China, the veil will be lifted on the Nova 4. For those unaware, Samsung first showcased a smartphone - Galaxy A8s - with edge-to-edge screens on all the sides with a camera hole right on the display itself at the China launch event of Galaxy A9s and Galaxy A6s.
We don't know the specifications yet so better wait for some leaks in the coming days.
Huawei Nova 4 is speculated to come equipped with an LCD display. A fingerprint scanner will sit on the back of this phone as well, and below it, you'll be able to see the company's branding, of course. It is expected to be powered by a 3,400mAh battery and sport a USB Type-C port. It is still unknown whether the phone will support wireless charging, though chances are it will not, as this will be a mid-range smartphone after all. Up front, there will be a 24MP sensor sitting inside the display hole. However, it has been confirmed that the device will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo. Inside the chassis, the Galaxy A8s could boast either a Snapdragon 710 SoC or a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor.
