A new report details the emergency response within Apple when it became clear that its new iPhones were not selling as well as expected.
Apple says the $55 CAD transparent case is crafted with a "blend of optically clear polycarbonate and flexible TPU materials".
"Thin, light, and easy to grip - this case lets you enjoy the look of iPhone XR while providing extra protection", reads the product description. It has a scratch-resistant coating applied to both the interior and the exterior. Need to wirelessly charge? But at least this case is here in time for the holidays?
You should protect it, then - but what's the point of buying a colorful phone just to slap a boring case on it? Our pick would be the Spigen Ultra Hybrid with Air Cushion for $17.99, despite being a bit thicker on the sides (especially if you have kids). Interestingly, if that's the case with the "affordable" iPhone XR, it can be assumed that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, which are more expensive, aren't really selling that well either. In fact, they even sell a leather case for Apple Pencil for $29.
It'll be interesting to see if this iPhone XR clear case from Apple is immune to the common problem associated with clear cases-looking dark, dirty and disgusting after six months of use.
