Messi ready as Barca drop Dembele

Ousmane Dembele 'goes AWOL' from Barcelona training

Messi and Umtiti return to Barcelona squad after medical green lights

Messi has missed nearly three weeks of action with a fractured arm but was back in training this week and was named in Ernesto Valverde's 19-man squad for the match against Betis.

Elsewhere, Ousmane Dembele has been dropped from the matchday squad amid reports that claim he missed training on Thursday.

"The talent that Dembele has is hard to find and we have to help him take advantage of it", he said.

Dembele has been left out of the squad for tomorrow's game with Betis, although Barca manager Ernesto Valverde says that it isn't a punishment. Dembele has incredible talent and we want to help him show it some day.

But asked if Messi was ready to play 90 minutes, Valverde replied: "We will see, but he's lost his fear of falling or struggling against an opponent".

The full squad is: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Jasper Cillessen, Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena, Denis Suarez, Rafinha, Malcom, Luis Suarez, Munir El-Haddadi and Lionel Messi.

Barcelona began the weekend three points clear at the top of La Liga, having won their last three league outings.

"We have taken a step forward and the players have got a bit of their confidence back", he said.
