Sanjay Nair has predicted the lineup that Jurgen Klopp will opt for when his side make the trip to face Red Star Belgrade this evening in the Champions League.

The early signs suggest Klopp's investment has worked, with Liverpool making an impressive start in the Premier League.

It was only the third time this season they have conceded more than one goal, but the second occasion in the Champions League and the first time since October 2014 they had conceded more than once in the first half of a Champions League game.

He noted his ties to Partizan Belgrade, arguing that he simply liked the picture of Serbian flags rather than show support for his old side's rivals Red Star.

They got a hard group stage draw when PSG and Napoli came out of the hat with them but they continued their excellent European form with an opening round win against the Ligue 1 champions to put themselves in pole position. So they deserved the three points.

We need to come together as a team and try and get what the gaffer wants, try to get the spark and try to win games more comfortably.

Liverpool continued to dominate the ball as Red Star sat back, and Mohamed Salah went close when his 71st-minute effort went behind off the outside of the post.

"We had chances but we weren't ruthless enough, weren't patient enough".

"You can't give teams that start", Liverpool midfielder James Milner said.

With the confidence flowing, Pavkov then doubled Red Star's advantage six minutes later, holding off the challenge of Georginio Wijnaldum before steadying himself and firing home from 25-yards out.

"I don't say it is already serious if we lose twice but we have to make sure it will not happen again".

Adam Lallana nearly got Liverpool back in the game moments later but his header was deflected just wide, and Sturridge then fired wide from just inside the box. Last season we were scoring a lot of goals and they were going in and now they're not.

"In the second half I thought we did better, obviously, we had enough chances to get back into the game, but we didn't take them and you get punished".

But It was Red Star marksmen Pavkov who would catch the eye in the Rajko Mitic Stadium. Still unbeaten after 11 games, the only points they have dropped came in draws against other sides in the top five in Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
