Jose Mourinho charged by FA for alleged abusive language

Jose Mourinho has been charged by the Football Association for using "improper language" following Manchester United's victory over Newcastle United.

The Reds had one of their worst ever starts to a Premier League campaign with three losses in their seven fixtures but their final game before the global break was an epic 3-2 comeback victory against Newcastle United and there is hope that it will spark a change in fortunes.

United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have given the 51-year-old his backing, as the pressure continues to mount on Mourinho.

United recovered from 2-0 down to complete a dramatic comeback with a 90th-minute goal from Alexis Sanchez.

The United boss has until 6pm on Friday to respond to the charge but he could be banned from the touchline when he faces old club Chelsea on Saturday. The Italian is under contract at Turin till 2020 and wants to turn Juventus into Champions League contenders after finishing runners-up twice in the past four years, as per the report.

Footage shows Mourinho saying something, apparently in Portuguese, while at one point looking into a camera, as he headed towards the tunnel after the final whistle.
