Google Pixel 3 XL Is Already Selling In Hong Kong Before Launch

New images of Google's Pixel Slate are leaked

Previous leaks have revealed that the Pixel 3 will have a 5.5-inch FHD+ display while the Pixel 3 XL will come with a 6.2-inch QHD+ display.

The new Pixels: Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, look nearly the same as last year's models, and both offer the same IP68 certification as the Pixel 2 and 2 XL.

Google's new Pixel phones mirror an industry trend toward lusher, bigger screens and add twists on the camera for better pictures. The name of the smartphones is Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 3 also gains some features familiar on rival devices: autofocus during video recording, gestures to take photos, and the ability to adjust the bokeh effect after taking a shot. "For life at work and play, we are bringing the power and productivity of a desktop to a gorgeous tablet called Pixel Slate".

Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

From the photo above and Engadget's early hands-on, both Pixels will have dual-front facing cameras. It appears that users may be able to switch between f/1.8 and f/2.2 apertures. It's the world's first tablet to run on the Chrome operating system.

For photography, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL continues to sport a single lens at the rear which is a 12.2MP lens with wider f/1.8 aperture. The existing Pixel lineup is known for taking the best selfies in the business and it is no surprise that Google would like to take this further.

However, you can actually see it here beforehand, along with details of the new device.

With its access to your email, calendar, entertainment, and suite of Nest and Home devices, Google stands in a key position to attack the competition in the home device wars against Apple, Amazon, and now Facebook, which just launched a home device, Portal.

The Home Hub will be connected to Google's Assistant, enabling it to display weather, calendar events, recipes and other pertinent information on the screen, according to MySmartPrice.com, which first published the images.

The October month is already occupied with a lot of product launches and events, but the limelight is being taken away by the silicon valley's tech giant, Google by its high-profile event that was concluded yesterday.

The colors available could be the aforementioned white (Chalk) and gray (Charcoal), but there could also be a new Coral variant.

Despite initial rumours and leaks at the beginning of the year suggesting Google is working on a Pixel Watch, it's now looking unlikely that we'll see it at today's event. Since the displays are pushed further to the bezels and will have taller aspect ratios, the dimensions of the phones are expected to remain almost the same.

How much will the Google Pixel cost?
