Plymouth police said that they found one man with a "bite injury to the hand" upon arrival at the course, Boston25 reports.
They arrived to find "the victim had his finger bitten off to his knuckle".
The alleged biter, a 47-year old-man, was arrested and taken into custody, where he faces the charge of mayhem.
Police were called to the golf club at around 6.30pm after reports of an "altercation" between two players. "Apparently there are two foursomes that got into an adjustment and there's been a finger that's been bitten off...the victim's laying on the main entrance road between three golf carts", the dispatcher said, according to the station.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment along with his digit. There's additional audio from the 911 call, via USA Today, and it's tough to read. "The victim's laying down on the main entrance road in between three golf carts".
A man was arrested for mayhem on Friday after biting off another golfer's thumb at the Southers Marsh public golf course in Plymouth, MA.
The identities of the men involved has not been released.
