Two people were shot and are being treated at hospitals after an altercation led to gunfire at a Florida high school football game on Friday night.
CBS affiliate WPEC says the football field and stadium at Palm Beach Central High school were evacuated.
Officials say both victims are now being treated at area hospitals. Palm Beach senior Chase Strelec told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he knew something was wrong when he saw all of the players running to the locker rooms as he stood near the bottom of the bleachers. The victims were not identified.
Initial reports from district personnel indicated the shots seem to have come from outside the stadium, the school district said.
Daniel Foster Sr. was in stable condition after being shot in the torso. He was in critical but stable condition, officials said Saturday, according to the Palm Beach Post.
The other injured person was a 29-year-old man whose name was not released.
Dwyer student athletes have boarded the bus and are being escorted back to Dwyer High School, according to the school district.
Both suspects are black and carried handguns, she said.
The gender and age of the victims, as well as information about a suspect, had not been confirmed.
