Everton make four major signings in remarkable end to transfer window

GETTY Everton are keen on Barcelona's Yerry Mina

"I worked hard during my holiday and now I am ready to play and do important things with the Club".

Andre Gomes, meanwhile, will sign on a season-long loan - with Everton paying a loan fee of £2m for the Portuguese global midfielder.

Southampton signed striker Danny Ings from Liverpool on a season-long loan before a permanent deal next year.

Everton, who finished eighth in the Premier League last season, have always been viewed as the side most likely to mount a challenge to break into the illustrious top six. Six months later and after a good World Cup, they have moved him on for nearly three times what they paid for him, despite him never quite performing during his short stay.

"I know about Everton's players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team". This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here.

Everton have completed the signing of Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, who was also being targeted by Manchester United for a move this summer. Everton always was a big option for me, especially after speaking with the coach, Marco Silva.

Everton spent heavily during this summer's transfer window.

The signing of Mina by the Camp Nou side can still be seen as a success off the pitch if not quite on it, after the club had only signed him in January for 11.8 million. He has made just six appearances during his time in Spain.

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona in a £42m deal in 2016, less than a fortnight after helping Portugal win the European Championship.

Mina and Gomes join former team-mate Lucas Digne at Goodison, following his move £20m move from Barcelona earlier in the window.
