West Ham have confirmed the signing of Colombia global midfielder Carlos Sanchez from Fiorentina.
West Brom have emerged as surprise contenders in the race to sign Fiorentina midfielder Carlos Sanchez, with West Ham also keen.
"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club", he said in a statement on West Ham's website.
The striker finally leaves the North Londoners despite many statements by his agent saying that the Spanish worldwide wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium but it is likely that Lucas Perez chose to leave the club because he was afraid that he won't get enough playing time this season under Unai Emery.
Colombia global Sanchez, 32, signed a two-year contract just minutes before the deadline, marking a return to the Premier League after he spent two seasons with Aston Villa from 2014-16.
"From the very first meeting I had with Lucas, he made it very clear that he wanted to come to West Ham United and, for us, this is very important".
Lucas will play alongside former Gunner Jack Wilshere at the London Stadium.
"In Spain there are also interest from some clubs, but they are not willing to assume the transfer".
