It's the second phone in the Android One series of phones from the Chinese tech giant. Also, both these phone come with the promise of frequent and timely software updates, considering they're part of Google's Android One program.
Display: The Mi A2 comes with a 5.99-inch "full-screen" FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080p resolution and 403ppi pixel density. On the front, the Mi A2 bears the same 20-megapixel sensor, complete with a soft-light flash module. We put it to the test.
Software: The Mi A2 runs a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. On the front of the device is a 20MP selfie snapper with AI-powered Beautify 4.0, HDR, and Portrait Mode features. The company also said at the India launch event that the smartphone's 128GB storage and 6GB RAM option will be released in the country at a later date. The phone charges over USB Type-C. However, the device looks quite different from the Mi A1 since it now has a near bezel-less design. The antenna placement is meanwhile more in line with how things were on the Mi A1 which means that the Mi A2 is also a metal unibody phone with its antennas located at the extreme ends of the device. The battery on the device is a 3010mAh one which comes with the Quick Charge 4 technology for fast-charging support in India. Also, Mi A2 comes with Gorilla Glass 5, giving maximum protection from accidental drops. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Xiaomi Mi A2.
As per the India Standard Time (IST), Xiaomi Mi A2 is scheduled to be launched by 4pm today and you can catch all the action live with the Facebook live streaming of the product launch.
