The fourth named storm of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season has formed, however Subtropical Storm Debby is "not a threat to Bermuda", the Bermuda Weather Service said, with its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs having passed. - Hurricane Hector was carrying 125 miles per hour (205 kph) winds westward across the Pacific Ocean early Sunday.

Hector also posed no immediate threat to land, but forecasters said people in Hawaii should monitor the storm's progress as it was projected to pass just south of the islands by midweek.

However, only a small deviation to the north of the forecast track could bring tropical storm force winds to the Big Island later tonight or on Wednesday.

Enhanced rainfall from deep tropical moisture surrounding Hector will affect the Puna and Ka'ū Districts of the Big Island as the hurricane passes by south of the state on Wednesday and Thursday.
