Vatutinki - Germany worldwide Jerome Boateng is irritated by speculation over his Bayern Munich future after the Bundesliga champions said he can leave the club, effectively putting him in the shop window at the 2018 Soccer World Cup.
Along with United, Boateng has also been linked with a return to City.
And Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted they are likely to consider offers.
"If a club comes and he announces that he wants to move, we will deal with it", Rummenigge said, implying that Boateng's agent had already approached them about the defender leaving. "I do not know why these statements were made", he told a news conference.
Boateng is preparing for the World Cup in Russian Federation, where Germany's campaign begins on Sunday against Mexico, and insisted his focus is exclusively on the global tournament.
The German centre back is now away on worldwide duty, and at this point in time, it seems unlikely that a move would be made for his services before the World Cup is finished.
"I would like to play well at the World Cup anyway, it has nothing to do with my situation", he said.
Boateng missed the end of Bayern's Bundesliga campaign due to a hamstring injury but was still selected in Joachim Low's squad.
