"Conor and I are going to meet in Las Vegas", White remarked. In fact, it lasted about 90 seconds if that. McGregor commented on the court date via social media, noting that he is going to be flying out to NY to face the charges on Tuesday, ahead of the court date on Thursday.
Back in April during fight week of the UFC 223 pay-per-view event, McGregor and several members of his entourage made a decision to fly from Ireland to Brooklyn, New York to get revenge on current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The 29-year-old appeared briefly at a court in Brooklyn this morning, to face several counts including assault and criminal mischief at the Barclays Centre in the city on April 5. He added that, "The good news for McGregor is that the most serious charge is the property damage charge". They took a private jet together from Ireland for the hearing.
However, as had been expected, McGregor's (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) appearance was brief and simply saw the scheduling of his next court appearance, which is now set for July 26. "I understand the seriousness of this matter, and I am hopeful it will get resolved soon".
McGregor's manager Audie Attar declined to discuss any fight plans at this time but did note that the focus is this court case and fighting is on the back burner for now.
Since his last UFC, McGregor has competed inside a boxing ring against Floyd Mayweather, losing the fight on a 10th-round TKO.
