Terrence LeVarr Thornton, who goes by the name Pusha T, explained on The Angie Martinez Show that West changed the cover art last minute.

In an interview with EW on Thursday, Pusha T told reporter Brian Josephs that the image "definitely does match the energy of my album".

1 am, my phone rings.

"'The [original] artwork was pictures that we all agreed on", he said, confirming that West had picked the photographer. "I'm so sorry for offending anyone - I hadn't even put this together, I was just excited to take a bath". I'ma pay for dat.' I say, 'You my man!

Perhaps this is just an attempt to distance himself from Kanye's MAGA affiliations, but I think he genuinely wants to know! It showed drug paraphernalia strewn all over the bathroom counter, revealing the award-winning singer's battle with addiction.

Kanye has now addressed speculation about his wellbeing in a verse of Pusha T's new song What Would Meek Do?, in reference to rapper Meek Mill, taken from his album Daytona, which was released on Friday (25May18). "And this other artwork is 85 grand, '" he recalled of West's words. Now, the rapper has unveiled the album's artwork, which features a tabloid photo of Whitney Houston's bathroom. "Look at that cover, I'm sure whoever frequents that bathroom or area knew whatever they wanted to find and knew where it was". Perhaps it's a good idea he went with a much shorter name for this project, or perhaps it was Kanye's idea.

HuffPost has reached out to Houston's estate for a comment, as it's unclear whether West paid the National Enquirer or a family member to license the photo.

Daytona is the first album that comes out of West's Jacksonhole, Wyoming studio.

Her death was ruled an accidental drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use was also to blame.
