Following the Karnataka State Assembly election results, the significance of regional parties has come to the fore, with BJP's alliance partners in Goa stating that the importance of State political outfits can not be undermined in politics.
TDP leaders, however, downplayed the Karnataka poll results, and said a huge anti-incumbency wave had helped the BJP gain from 40 seats in 2013 to over a 100 now. Of the seven seats in Raichur, the BJP won two.
Reacting to the results of Karnataka state assembly election, Dhavalikar said that it has clearly underlined the importance of the regional parties and it is an indication to the national level political parties that they must work on the basis of this particular instance.

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders showed confidence of forming government in Karnataka.

One thing Shah has to understand is Goa is different from other States, it had given an absolute majority to BJP in 2012 but the party failed miserably to keep up to the expectations.
The chief minister further said that looking at the "unprecedented" poll triumphs of the BJP under Modi, it was clear that the prime minister had become the most people-friendly leader since Independence. For a party to form a government in the state, it needs a majority of 113 seats in the 224-member Assembly.
