Now, after a third shift in the release date, Parmanu is all set to release on May 25 and it seems pretty much fair to give the film a solo release after going through so much.
For the uninitiated, the Sonam starrer Veere Di Wedding, which also happens to be the Kapoors' home production, is scheduled to release on June 1.
Meanwhile, Sonam and her girl gang had booked the first June weekend for Veere Di Wedding's release a year ago. June 1 was considered to have greater expectancy for larger footfall as there's a gap between big releases hitting screens in May and the selected date.
The trade buzz is also that it won't really matter if Veere Di Wedding and Bhavesh Joshi release the same day, as the genres of the films are different.
Exhibitor and distributor Rajesh Thadani feels the reason Harshvardhan's second film, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, was moved to June 1 could have been buzz about the release of John Abraham's Parmanu. It has a greater audience potential and is a safe distance away from holdover Hindi and English releases. The action-packed trailer traces the journey of a group of friends who set out on the path of righteousness.
As for Sonam, Veere Di Wedding is one of her most ambitious projects with her sister Rhea being one of the producers.
The makers of Daawat-e-Ishq finally changed the release date to avoid clashing with the actress's cousin at the box office.
