The first trailer for the upcoming Destination Wedding introduces Reeves and Ryder as two miserably misanthropic wedding guests who hate everything about this whole thing: the airline boarding process, the seating chart, those ridiculous inflatable ball things that you wear so you can crash into stuff. This very much looks like a prototypical 90s romantic comedy with two stars who were very big and popular in that era. That history shines through even in this brief trailer. "You might as well just stick us together", Reeves' Frank comments, only for Lindsay to argue, "I don't want to be a person you don't know where to stick". "As a filmmaker, I have the benefit of their having known each other for so long". They have superb natural chemistry together, which is so important for a love story... DJ Dallenbach also stars in the film with Victor Levin serving as both director and writer. "It's about their characters and the healing power of love and laughter".
The film marks another project where Ryder and Reeves are joining forces, previously starring together in 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula, 2006's A Scanner Darkly and 2009's The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.
