The latest data which was revealed on Wednesday spanned the 2013-14 through 2016-17 academic years and showed a number of different areas in which Villanova ranks at or near the top of all Division I programs for the continued academic success of its student-athletes.

The other Duke programs recognized were men's and women's fencing, men's and women's soccer, field hockey, men's golf, women's lacrosse, women's cross country, women's tennis and volleyball.

The Zags trailed Villanova (82 percent) and Holy Cross (79) out of 306 schools that placed a team in the top April list. The spring academic semester which just concluded was the 30th consecutive semester in which Wildcats student-athletes maintained a collective grade-point average above a 3.0, and the seventh straight semester in which the GPA for student-athletes was higher than a 3.2. The nine recognitions for women's golf is a program record. Women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's golf, softball and men's tennis were all recognized by the NCAA. "Matching a school record for NCAA Public Recognition Awards is an accomplishment that everyone associated with Georgia Tech can be proud of", director of athletics Todd Stansbury said. Seven national championship teams so far this year have earned Public Recognition Awards. Flood was the Rutgers coach for the first 2 1/2 years of that four-year span.

Specific scores for all teams will be released May 23.

"The key with the April is that it's a complete team effort, from our faculty to our campus advisers, coaches and administration", said Tommy Powell, the school's assistant provost for student-athlete academic development "We all work together to make a world-class experience for our student-athletes and prepare them for life when they leave". APRs for programs in the Top 10 percent ranged from 985 to a flawless 1,000, and the number of teams posting ideal scores increased to 1,188, marking an increase of 98 teams from a year ago. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in the calculation, and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.

The Central Michigan women's team was recognized by the NCAA with its Public Recognition Award for its outstanding academic achievements.

The University of Arkansas has earned a public recognition award in 12 of the 13 years since the program was initiated.
