A police report is indicating that Sohail of northeast Delhi's Gokal Puri area was killed after a wall collapsed on him while he was sleeping in his house.
The advisory came hours after a massive dust storm hit New Delhi and the surrounding region yesterday at around 3am, uprooting trees and disrupting power supply. The police received almost 60 calls related to uprooted trees, fallen electricity polls and wall collapses across the region.
The weather department has also issued an alert for the north-east region, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and said these areas may receive heavy rainfall in the next 72 hours. Also, they already predicated that Delhi is going to see another dust storm and thundershowers today.
Meanwhile, temperature in the morning was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius and generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle is expected, a MeT official said.
High-velocity winds uprooted trees and affected road, rail and air services last evening at a number of places in north India, including the national capital.
On Sunday, heavy dust storm, followed by rain and lightning, also hit the city and several states, claiming 90 lives, besides injuring over 150.
