Overwatch is ready to celebrate its two-year anniversary this month.
"Petra is attractive. There are some really fun gameplay elements to it as well", Kaplan continued. "There's a lot of diversity and we think you'll find it super, super fun".
A new map, Petra, is being introduced along with the first Competitive Deathmatch Season. "We think you'll find that very fun". This will feature official rankings and competitive points for Free-for-all Deathmatches that take place on both Petra and fellow Arcade map, Château Guillard.
Kaplan also added that the map will be a fine fit for different types of heroes as well be them long-range ones or those that prefer to be up close in the fights. Considering everything that will be on the table during the team-based shooter's Anniversary event, it definitely seems like a good time to be an Overwatch fan. This Anniversary Loot Box will always contain an anniversary item and also has a chance to contain another item from any of Overwatch's past seasonal events.
For those who have missed any of those aforementioned Overwatch events, look for all of the seasonal brawls and missions to make their return during the Overwatch Anniversary event. To get even more people to check it out, a new Legendary Edition of the game will also be released on 22 May which includes 15 legendary and epic skins, and even those skins that were exclusive to the Origin Edition. Logging on during the event for the first time will also get you one Legendary lootbox which means you're guaranteed at least one legendary item (please let it be that awesome 1980s Zarya skin that I missed out on a year ago!).
