The child was sleeping with her parents when the accused, a relative of the mother of the child took her to the basement of the building in Rajwada area, raped her and killed her, a report in Dainik Bhaskar reads. But today, Indore Deputy Inspector General H C Mishra told reporters that the police department has found Gadge as the accused in the case after a thorough investigation.
According to Indore police, the accused, identified as Sunil, who belongs to the Bhil tribe, was sleeping besides the family in Rajwada Palace area. The accused, Sunil Bheel, had kidnapped her when she was asleep with her parents outside the Rajwada Fort.
The child's body had injury marks on the private parts and the head.

"We have a suspect and are questioning him", said Mishra.
The accused was seen with the father of the dead child a few hours before she went missing.
The incident follows protests across the country after the police chargesheet in the rape-and-murder case of an eight-year-old child in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua revealed that she had been drugged, gang-raped, starved and murdered in January.
On Wednesday, a 10-year-old girl was similarly raped and murdered at a wedding in Chhattisgarh.
The baby was found around 11.30 am Friday after a shopkeeper spotted her.
The rapes have provoked mass protests across India and social media campaigns for justice and safety.
