At an event next week, Spotify will be announcing news about the upcoming changes to its mobile app, according to the company sent out.
It's unknown what additions Spotify will be announcing.
The invite also states that there will be presentations by Gustav Soderstrom, Spotify's chief research and development officer; Babar Zafar, vice president of product development and Troy Carter, global head of creative services.
We now have confirmation that the event will be about the mobile app, with some new options possibly to be introduced. It's possible that the company will be rolling out its voice control feature to all users, something that's been available for a small number of users for testing.
While unlikely, Spotify could launch its rumored smart speaker competitor at the event.
Currently, Apple Music has a total of 40 million paid subscribers, while Spotify's latest data shows that their streaming service has approximately 70 million subscribers.
