According to sources, the PTI has mooted three names, which are; former commerce minister Abdul Razzaq Dawood, former chief justice of Pakistan Tasadduq Jilani and former governor State Bank Dr. Ishrat Hussain.

PTI Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi is set to submit the nominations to National Assembly Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah. Jillani served as the 21st CJP from December 12, 2013, to July 5, 2014.

Abdul Razak Dawood had served as the Commerce Minister of Pakistan in Pervez Musharraf cabinet from 1999 to 2002 while Ishrat Husain is a Pakistani banker and economist who served as the dean of the Institute of Business Administration and the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan from 1999 to 2006.

Pakistan Peoples Party is yet to finalise its suggestions for caretaker setup while the government would announce its candidates after the opposition had done its homework.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Khursheed Shah held the third round of the consultations over the name of caretaker prime minister last Wednesday and made a decision to continue consultation to finalise the caretaker set-up by the mid of May.

The prime minister had earlier said in a statement that a caretaker premier should be a person, who remains undisputed and non-controversial, and whose past is clear.
