Ed Sheeran in Talks for Upcoming Danny Boyle Film

And now, the - yuck - Daily Mail has broken the news that Ed Sheeran is in talks for a role in the movie.

Sheeran already had cameos in The Bastard Executioner, Game of Thrones, and Bridget Jones' Baby, so this would be a continuation of his push into film and TV. The project is described as a story about a man who wakes up one day and finds out that he is the only one who can remember the songs of the seminal rock band, The Beatles.

As we reported last month, pic is written by Love Actually scribe Richard Curtis with Slumdog Millionaire helmer Boyle on board to direct. Sheeran is going to reportedly to write some new music for the film, which will also include Beatles hits.

Lily James (Darkest Hour, Baby Driver, Cinderella) and Himesh Patel (Eastenders) are also amongst the cast, while. Saturday Night Live standout Kate McKinnon is in talks with filming due to take place this summer. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing the film for Working Title with Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Curtis and Boyle will also produce. Erik Baiers will oversee the film for Universal.

Boyle is in post-production on upcoming FX crime-series Trust, on which he is executive producer and director.
