Shenmue I & II Collection's US Retail Price Revealed

Any video game lover who came of age in the late 1990s probably remembers the Dreamcast, Sega's ill-fated answer to the Nintendo 64 and the final major console the company would ever release.

A few screenshots of the two Shenmue games have been released by the makers, and looking at them makes it apparent that no HD remastering has gone into them.

As Kotaku notes, both Shenmue I and Shenmue II will be arriving for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year, giving a whole lot of gamers some serious deja vu.

Shenmue was one of the first games with a persistent open world, day/night and NPC cycles, and weather changes. It was also apparently the game that coined the term "quick time event". These revolutionary masterpieces deliver a gripping story of retribution as Ryo Hazuki sets out to avenge his father's death and attempts to unravel the secrets behind a mysterious artefact known as the Dragon Mirror.

This collection of two games will be offered with fully scalable screen resolution, a choice between modern and classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an enhanced user interface and even an option to switch between Japanese or English voiceovers. Shenmue III was crowdfunded in 2015 to the tune of $6 million, but is only in development for PC and PS4.
