Paul Feig Says Yes to Inclusion Clause

Director-producer Paul Feig has adapted the inclusion rider as part of all the feature film and television productions at his Feigco Entertainment.

Her empowering remarks prompted Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan to announce he would introduce the riders at his production firm Outlier Society as standard for all of their film and TV endeavours last week (ends09Mar18), and on Tuesday (13Mar18), an executive at Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Pearl Street Films declared they would be following suit.

Backstage at the 90th Academy Awards, McDormand explained an inclusion rider can be added to contracts so that at least 50% of the cast and crew have to be diverse. "We challenge other companies and studios to do the same".

During her acceptance speech after winning the best actress Oscar for "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", McDormand created a social media buzz by mentioning inclusion riders in her speech, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Feig joins Michael B. Jordan's company and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's company in adopting a rider.

He then revealed officials at The Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, the think tank founded by University of Southern California professor Dr. Stacy L. Smith, who first proposed the concept of the inclusion rider, had helped him roll out the policy at his firm.

"Thank you my friend for putting female leads front and centre for years!"
