Today Obsidian Entertainment announced that Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire will be delayed from its original April release to May 8 on PC. It had been scheduled to come out on April 3, but developer Obsidian Entertainment said in an email today that it wants a little more time to ensure that everything is ship-shape before the game comes out of dry dock.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire was supposed to release next month but unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore. The developers commented: "As you have probably guessed, Deadfire is a huge game - significantly larger than the original Pillars of Eternity". While no specific reason was given for the delay, Obsidian simply says it's "taking just a few extra weeks to polish and put those finishing touches on the game". Deadfire promises to be even larger than its predecessor, so the delay is unsurprising.
