Mario Tennis Aces Revealed; Coming This Spring to Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has now become the fastest-selling home video game system in US history.

Nintendo announced that both "Hyrule Warriors" and "Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze" will be heading to the Nintendo Switch this year.

Nintendo also announced a free update for Super Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Balloon World - two competitive modes about hiding or finding balloons - as well as a Donkey Kong DLC pack for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

The new Mario Tennis Aces also features Luigi.

In terms of actual new first party games, only two real titles were featured: Kirby Star Allies and Mario Tennis Aces. Nintendo expected to sell only 8 million units in Nintendo Switch's first facial year April 2017 through March 2018.

Nintendo is finally keen on using downloadable content and updates to keep its games fresh long after launch, and a trio of last year's biggest Switch games will see new bits in the coming months.

Check out the rest of the Nintendo announcements (with groan-worthy narrated clips) at the Direct page. Basically, it means that head-to-head pricing with the Nintendo Switch proves that the PS4 can't compete. The Direct also reveals that Nippon Ichi's Ys VII: Lacrimosa of DANA is coming to Switch along with a new SNK game, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. It's Nintendo's big release ahead of Easter 2018, so there's a lot riding on it.

For fans of fighting games, there is a little something here for you, too. Now, players have more reasons to purchase a Switch console if they do not already have one.

Payday 2 will release in Europe and Australia on February 23rd, and in North America and South America on February 27th. Sadly, it's not the 3D wonder that we've been holding out hope for, but it does at least bring the Kong to the Switch, introducing a brand new simple mode featuring Funky Kong and his seemingly indestructible surf board on the 4th May. Nintendo will release the game in Spring 2018. The Switch version of the game will be called "Hyrule Warrior: Definitive Edition" and will include new outfits for Zelda and Link, which are based on their outfits from "Breath of the Wild", according to Kotaku. This new character has some unique styles and abilities with a amusing twist in the platforming gameplay. It's also coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
