The DCEU continues to undergo shakeups, with plenty of projects in the early stages of development, but very few actually penciled in with firm release dates.

Next up: The Aquaman standalone film, which comes out December 21, 2018.

Warner Bros. has announced that Shazam! will be released on April 5, 2019, confirming that the date, which was previously filled with an unnamed DC Comics film project, belongs to the Zachary Levi starring film, according to Deadline.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Shazam!

The story sees young Billy Batson, played by Asher Angel, transformed into the super hero Captain Marvel (Levi) when he yells the magic word, "Shazam!". Mark Strong is in talks to play the villain.

The film will be scripted by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.

That being said, they seem to have a charming take on the material, and with Shazam! opening in April, it's not like Warner Bros' is banking its summer slate on the movie.

Sandberg has been active on social media teasing pre-production of the movie which films soon in Toronto.
