And according to Bleacher Report's Dean Jones, Tuanzebe will join up with Steve Bruce's men - now in fifth place in the Championship - for the rest of the campaign.
United boss Mourinho is reluctant to offload Tuanzebe, but he concedes that the England Under-21s global risks seeing his growth stunted if he remains at Old Trafford when he could be getting valuable minutes elsewhere.
"Tuanzebe is a very good player that is not having lots of possibilities to play here", said Mourinho.
"There's no chance we'll give up on such a talented boy but we are thinking about a loan until the end of the season". We are a bit afraid of injuries, a bit afraid of needing him, we have Eric Bailly injured, we are not free of other injuries, so we are delaying the decision and we are going to delay until the end of the transfer window.
The former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss, though, has suggested that he will wait until the end of the month to make his decision.
The Villans are fifth in the Championship table ahead of this weekend's fixtures, but Steve Bruce's men have been guilty of inconsistent form over the last month.
However, the Villans can not put all their eggs in one basket and have to start looking at options other than United defender Tuanzebe in case Mourinho decides to keep him at Old Trafford.
