Oklahoma added a preferred walk-on with a familiar last name on Friday morning: Drake Stoops.
His dad is former OU head coach Bob Stoops, and Drake will continue the Stoops line with the Sooners. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver held scholarship offers from Ohio, Arkansas State, Memphis, Western Kentucky and a few other programs, but chose to take the walk-on route for his father's old team.
Stoops is the No. 20 player in Oklahoma, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
Stoops has been a playmaker at Norman North at wide receiver, catching 66 passes for 1,093 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior for the Timberwolves.
Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops also congratulated his nephew, Drake, on his commitment.
