Robin Des Mana hits the barrier as Kennedy desperately tries to climb back onto his mount

A teenage jockey has pulled off one of the most incredibly unlikely victories you will ever see after nearly falling off his horse mid-race.

Jack Kennedy from Kerry was riding Robin Des Mana for trainer Gordon Elliot in the 2.35 at Clonmel on Thursday.

With Kennedy seemingly destined for a fall, Robin Des Mana got out to £390 in the run on Betfair.

The 18-year-old showed his determination to avoid falling from the six-year-old gelding, which paid off as he recovered to weave his way through the pack and win the race.

Eighteen-year-old Jack Kennedy was bumped off his saddle but managed to hold on, before remarkably, going on to win race. I was a little bit embarrassed that I got thrown out of the saddle so I said I'd better try and stay on him. He stayed straight so that was a big help.

In what's being called "The Miracle of Clonmel", the horse then fought through the field to hit the lead two fences from home, eventually winning by a nose, with Kennedy completing one of the most extraordinary comebacks you'll ever see.
