For the cash-strapped and hungry, McDonald's Dollar Menu was the go-to choice once upon a time.
McDonald's announced today its new $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu, which will kick off the New Year and offer customers several delicious and craveable McDonald's items at a compelling price.
McDonald's $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu has three simple price points with thousands of possible combinations and will be available nationwide at participating restaurants beginning January 4.
The Classic Chicken sandwich is a brand new menu item described as "served on a toasted bun containing no high fructose corn syrup and a buttermilk filet made with 100% white meat chicken and no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives". Unlike McDonald's value menu, everything on Taco Bell's - from a Spicy Potato Taco to a Beefy Fritos Burrito, a Shredded Mini Chicken Quesadilla or Triple Layer Nachos - actually costs $1.
There are a dozen items, including cheeseburgers for a buck, a bacon McDouble for $2 and a happy meal for $3. It tested other names, but customers liked the Dollar Menu one best, said Chris Kempczinski, who oversees McDonald's Corp.'s US business.
