Zach Ertz returns to Eagles' practice after clearing National Football League concussion protocol

Wildfires cause Rams to make contingency practice plans

The Philadelphia Eagles received a boost on Thursday when star tight end Zach Ertz passed the concussion protocol.

Ertz will likely end of being listed as limited in practice (as he wasn't seen doing much) but his ability to participate at all and clearing the National Football League protocol makes it likely the tight end will suit up on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

Ertz exited Sunday's loss to Seattle in the third quarter and missed Wednesday's practice session.

Coach Sean McVay said the Rams have arranged to practice at USC, some 50 miles to the southeast, in the coming days if air quality deteriorates to the point that it's unhealthy for players to practice.

Wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who hauled in seven receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks, could also see fewer targets with Ertz back in the line-up.

The Rams have allowed 46 catches for 501 yards and four touchdowns to tight ends this season.
