PDP Reveals Why Atiku Won't Be Allowed To Vote At National Convention

"He will be part of this convention".

He added that those behind the plot know that if it is successful, their days in government will be numbered.

They specifically urged the national leadership of the PDP to be wary of the said fake list by rejecting it.

He said, "I want to draw your attention to an issue that bother us".

"It is not from the very top".

"But some overzealous elements in the administration are bent on disrupting it".

According to him, "You have prayed for a successful convention of the PDP. We have evidence that the President is aware of this".

Dokpesi also said that PDP Governors are performing better than their APC counterparts. "We thank the Caretaker Committee of our party because they have done a lot ahead of the inauguration on Monday, and since then, we have held several meetings". I want to assure our party members that whoever emerged the National Chairman, the BOT is ready to cooperate and work with him for the progress of the party.

"In a related development, Key stakeholders in the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday stormed the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, protesting what they called fake delegates" list compiled for the state.

He welcomed the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others back to the party just as he enjoined all those who defected to return home because "PDP is still the only National Party and a home for all".

He said fear was the reason why the ruling party had not been able to organise a national convention for many years.

The elder statesman was speaking when he received members of the PDP Convention Planning Committee led by their Chairman and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, at his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital. They are doing everything possible to make sure that this convention is disrupted.

"He also appealed to PDP leaders in the South-South to see Nigeria as a country that must be united and not divided along ethnic line".

While expressing delight at Atiku's return to the party, Adeyeye maintained that the former vice president could and would only make a speech at the convention but not cast a vote.
