After a trippy teaser that was launched earlier in July, Makers of the makers of Saif Ali Khan's forthcoming film "Kaalakaandi" going to release the theatrical trailer today.
Before the release of the trailer, the makers unveiled a funky poster of the film which shows Saif, decked in a furry yellow coat, with his hair tied in multiple ponytails and a gun in hand.
In a media statement, Saif said, "If Padmavati comes in (on that day), we will think of shifting our release date. I think when we get close to that release, it will be like my film releasing".
"I wouldn't call Kaalakaandi a niche film, I'd call it unpretentious". There are chances that the film might be released any time in the beginning of 2018. Recently, we saw Secret Superstar and Golmaal Again releasing on the same day and both films did well.
When asked how he feels about his daughter's film releasing the same year as his, Saif told reporters here, "I am happy, I am excited for her. But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration", he added. Off late, his film Chef didn't do a fare business even after the content of the film was great. "They were all good actors and I think my acting has improved after working with some of these guys", he said. But I don't do that. I get my confidence back every time, irrespective of whether my film works or not. I don't want to be anxious about anything as long as I have integrity and I am working hard.
This dark comedy is the story of six characters from different worlds - urban, ambitious Mumbai and its dark, neglected underbelly.
