He was arrested for driving drunk in 2016 in El Paso, where he played at UTEP.
Jones, 22, was initially tabbed for speeding 79 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone in Brown County in Wisconsin at 11:37 a.m., according to the Journal Sentinel.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Monday that Jones was pulled over on October 1 for speeding on Highway 172.
When the state trooper approached Jones on the driver's side, he noted the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and no contraband was found, per Larson.
The running back was charged with speeding, driving without a valid license and operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in his system.
"A second trooper arrived on the scene, and Jones was asked to participate in a standardized field sobriety test along the side of the highway". He was able to balance on one leg and follow an object with his eyes, but had to use his arms to balance during a walking test.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he has been aware of the situation since shortly after it occurred. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on February 1, 2018.
"I spoke to Aaron after the incident", McCarthy said Monday.
Jones joins Geronimo Allison, Sam Shields, Letroy Guion and Datone Jones as members of the organization arrested on drug-related charges in the last three years. Jones completed a diversion program and the charge was dropped.
Jones is now healing from a damaged MCL and is expected to miss the next several weeks of play for the Packers.
