Oklahoma disciplines Baker Mayfield for obscene gesture

Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley announced Monday afternoon that senior quarterback Baker Mayfield will be punished for his actions during Saturday's game versus Kansas.

After getting slighted, Mayfield jawed with the Jayhawks and had plenty of back-and-forth with some fans seated behind the Oklahoma bench during Saturday's game.

During the third quarter in Lawrence, Mayfield grabbed his crotch and appeared to yell "F-- you!" at the Jayhawks' sideline.

The QB apologized at a press conference after the game and later issued a written apology via social media.

Before the game, Kansas captains refused to shake hands with Mayfield and his fellow Sooner captains at midfield for the coin toss. Mayfield won't be serving as an Oklahoma team captain against the Mountaineers either.

"I got caught up in a competitive game, a chippy game, but what I did today, tonight, was unacceptable", Mayfield said.
