In an appearance on "Mike & Mike" Wednesday morning, Gruden was asked about reports linking him to National Football League and collegiate coaching jobs.
It looks like Tennessee may have some competition if it does try to hire Jon Gruden.
"I haven't talked to anybody", Gruden said.
Gruden would go on to say he's "real sensitive to the coaches out there coaching" right now, so he doesn't want to speculate on any job openings or his name being tied to them. All I really have in my life is my family and football, that's about it. I just love football. I'm very fortunate to be with the people I'm with. I just know this: I'm going to continue to give my best effort to the game, stay prepared, and I love Monday Night Football.
Gruden spent seven seasons with Tampa Bay and coached the Buccaneers to a win in Super Bowl XXXVII.
However, Gruden got his coaching start as a graduate assistant at Tennessee in the mid-1980s. His wife, Cindy, is a former Volunteers cheerleader and his middle son, Michael, is a student at the university. Until his replacement is hired, the #Grumors mill will continue to churn.
